What is a ten dimensional yoga teacher?

A teacher who is passionate about being well rounded in all aspects of life, rather than only one subject (yoga).

I put together this guide because I too used to only be a one dimensional teacher. However since traveling, meeting new souls, being challenged throughout my journey, and creating my online yoga business I have grown into a ten dimensional yoga teacher.

The best part about all of this is now you can too!  Below you will find ten reasons why you NEED to become a ten dimensional yoga teacher. Before you begin, I encourage you to take a moment to close your eyes. Inhale everything that serves your being, exhale everything that does not. Now prepare yourself because by the end of this post you will have all the tools you will need to be a ten dimensional yoga teacher.

1. To get an extra job on top of your yoga job

This is your tool to making money while traveling. Do you have ten years of experience in another field? Do you have a blog? Can you fluently speak and/or write in another language? When you have multiple skills you can use all of them to make your dreams come true. I love to write, so I created this yoga travel blog you’re reading now. If you’re a great writer you can offer your skills to edit papers, blogs, magazines, menus, etc. and make a good income from it.

I have experience in acting, so while in Ireland I was hired to be in a music video for the band August Walk. The music video hit #1 on the charts and was later nominated for a Grammy! So what else are you good at? Turn it into a side hustle and you’re good to go!

2. To create your yoga website!

A yoga website? Why do I need that?

To be very honest, you do not exist in the professional yoga world unless you have a website. This website should express who YOU are in a professional way. As someone who doesn’t have a clue how to code the good news is you don’t have to! I needed a beautiful yoga website and that is exactly what I got when I took the “How to Create Beautiful Yoga Websites” course with The Yoga Nomads. They taught me EVERYTHING I needed to know to build my website, business, and get creative with what I love doing most: Teaching Yoga!

3. To Build Relationships

This is SO important, especially while traveling! The more people you know in the country you’re traveling to the EASIER your trip will be! Not to mention, you NEED a yoga support system in ALL parts of the world. I cannot tell you how good it feels to meet another traveling yogi while on the road. I traveled to California last month and, because of my relationships in the yoga world, I was offered places to stay, fed delicious meals, and yoga-ed with those I love most! Reach out to your yoga community, support your fellow yogis, and keep your relationships intact near and far. You never know when a beautiful opportunity is right around the corner.

4. To know HOW to build your yoga business

We know we need a website, but what else? You need to know how to create and send out email newsletters. This is how you connect with your community on more of a personal level. Your newsletters should be HELPFUL. If someone signs up for your newsletter, it means they want to LEARN more from you or hear more about what you’re doing in the yoga world. You should also offer a FREE GIFT upon sign up. This way you get their email and they get a free gift and helpful tips throughout your journey together.

5. The Yoga Itself

What kind of yoga do you teach? Could you expand your teachings? The answer should ALWAYS be YES! When you’re not traveling and teaching you should be learning. I have two months until my next BIG yoga adventure (stay tuned), so I am taking an online yoga anatomy teacher training with ASFYT while home. This course changed my life because it gives me an in depth look at the yoga practice through anatomy. You can take this course from ANYWHERE since it’s online, plus you complete your required yoga hours with the Yoga Alliance. It is a win win situation for YOU. Another FANTASTIC opportunity I recommend is getting your SUP Yoga certification at Island Yoga. Not only do you get SUP Yoga certified but you get WPA certified on top of it! This double certification is hard to come by, plus you travel to Aruba for this incredible opportunity.  You can read about my experience at Island Yoga here.

6. To know how to build your yoga resume

I know this can be a total pain to get done, but once it’s done the worries fall away and you can start the yoga hustle life. Your resume should be organized by Education, Teaching Experience, Masterclasses/Professional Courses, Skills, and Community Involvement. Just like your website, you want to express YOU in it. So have fun with it and get colorful! Want to to build your resume right now? You can check out my example resume here.

7. To fulfill ALL your passions

This one is my favorite, because I have MANY. I love to sing, act, meditate, study Buddhism, and make smoothies just to name a few. As long as you put your biggest and most important dream first, then it is absolutely okay to fulfill ALL your passions. This will make you happiest and help you to be the BEST yoga teacher you can possibly be. So, if you need a day off from working on your yoga business, I encourage you to go do something you love. It will help you reset and get those creative juices flowing again. Also it’s not the end of the world if you need a day off. You deserve it, you’re human and you need to breathe. So go do what you love!

8. To know how to cook healthy meals while traveling

I used to dislike cooking. I thought it was a waste of time and preferred to order out. That was until I lived in Costa Rica last summer where the food situation was not what I expected. I lived in a traveler’s house where our meals consisted of:

♦Black Beans

So I learned how to cook real fast and get creative with my cooking too. It is SO important to eat healthy while traveling. When I lived in the jungle, the closest pharmacy was 30km away and closed when it rained so basically non-existent. Eating fruits, vegetables, and drinking water every day is the BEST way to stay healthy. You can also use fruit as a face mask if you get sunburned or if your skin needs hydration. As my friend Diana wrote: Let Food Be Thy Medicine.

9. To become financially savvy in your yoga business

This is the topic most yoga teachers don’t like to talk about, but the truth is that you deserve abundance and so does your business. So what does this entail? Making a financial plan so that you and your business can do more than just survive. To get a more in depth look at yoga from a financial standpoint, feel free to check out “How to Save Money For Your Next Yoga Adventure.”

10. To Travel

I know it looks and sounds easy, but traveling is more work than it looks. You have to research everything for your trip:

♦The country you’re traveling to

♦Accommodation: I recommend Airbnb

♦Will you be teaching abroad or is your trip for leisure?

Those are just the first things that come to mind for planning a trip. However there is much more involved.

Congratulations! You now have everything you need to know to become a ten dimensional yoga teacher! Moving forward, I invite you to follow your excitement, do what lights up your soul and never stop growing!

These are just a few of the many topics to research before your next trip or yoga business venture! To make life easier, I teach a Manifest and Travel Course where I coach you in EVERYTHING you NEED to know about traveling, organizing and planning your trip, finding a yoga job abroad plus a mindset coaching to help you prepare for your trip (hint: FREE yoga). So get your yoga mat out and meditate on everything you WANT to become as a ten dimensional yoga teacher. Then send me an email so I can help you manifest and make those dreams come true!
