In four years I have traveled to 18 countries.
Of those 18 I found three cities that truly stole my soul in all the ways a city should! From exploring the American South to the Portuguese Coast and all the way to Asia, these three cities will teach you what it truly means to live from your soul.
Someone told me that the misfit toys live in New Orleans and they couldn’t have been more right!
NOLA or NOLA Fairytale as I call it stole my soul the moment I heard jazz music playing at the Spotted Cat Music Club. What I LOVE about New Orleans is that no matter what you’re doing or where you’re at, it’s like going back in time to truly LIVE life. From Mardi Gras costumes and parades (Check out my Mardi Gras Guide HERE.) to watching an old flick at Prytania Theater to enjoying a glass of wine while riding the Carousel Bar, New Orleans will show you what it means to live your NOLA out loud!
The place where my soul resides and Madonna’s too! Lisbon is nicknamed the city of light for its full of light skies! If you haven’t watched a Lisbon sunrise or sunset then have you seen the sky at all? What I love most about Lisbon are the people! The Portuguese are full of love and that love shows up in their culture! The city sidewalks are hand painted. The clubs are full of families dancing together. The architecture I swear was built for the viewer to experience seeing the world from different perspectives and to maybe help us see the world in bigger ways. I love the calm in Siem Reap.
Not what makes the city calm, but the actual peaceful vibe of it. I love that yoga is new and growing in this city. I love that there are spaces dedicated to peaceful moments in this city. What I love most about Siem Reap is that there are MANY women run businesses that are not only successful but are making a change in the community. To learn more about the Siem Reap community, check out my post Six Sacred Spaces in Siem Reap.
