You graduate yoga teacher training. You buy yourself a yoga mat, backpack, plane ticket and now you are a professional globetrotter- yoga style!
Something like that, right?
Except they didn’t tell you anything about traveling the world via yoga mat in teacher training, did they?
Thankfully, I am here to help with my:
5 Lessons I Wish I Knew Before Becoming a Traveling Yoga Teacher
You Need to be a Ten Dimensional Yoga Teacher
Meaning you need to be able to do ten other things besides teach yoga. To learn how to become a ten dimensional yoga teacher, check out my blog post HERE.
When someone tells you the place you are traveling to is scary, it’s because they’ve never traveled there before.
DO NOT LISTEN TO THE HATERS.
Pop lock and drop that fear away!
They’re afraid of life and the last thing you need in your life is fear of the unknown.
Smile and carry-on with your travel plans regardless!
There is a difference between traveling the world for fun and traveling the world for work. Know the difference, but prepare for both!
This is a lesson I am constantly learning and relearning.
Traveling for fun is awesome and basically the whole point of being a traveling yoga teacher. However, sometimes you have to say NO to fun to make deadlines, get work done, and I don’t know….go teach an epic yoga class!
What I’m saying is find the BALANCE between yoga and play as both are equally important.
Trust Your Gut. Trust Your Gut. Trust Your Gut.
If something feels off LEAVE. Period. End of story. Leave.
You will meet some of your best friends and mentors via Social Media
Who knew you could make real life connections on social media?
I met 90% of my tribe through Social Media before meeting them in person. I actually stay in touch more with my online tribe than my real life tribe.
Perks of Having an Online Tribe:
-Be the first to enroll for online courses.
-Online friends live all over the world so you get to meet them all over the world!
-You can reach out to them by a touch of your finger.
-Friendships that last a lifetime!
Being a traveling yoga teacher is truly the best job in the world! You get to go on epic adventures, meet the most beautiful souls, eat delicious food and share what you love with the world! If traveling the world by yoga mat is what YOU want to do in this world, check out my online course:
Until next time my travel loves!
Brytta is a world traveling yoga teacher from NYC. Lover of glitter, SUP Yoga and climbing waterfalls. When she's not adventuring around the world and practicing yoga, she's writing about her adventures and coming up with new ways to take her yoga off the mat and into the world! When she's not doing any of that, she's outside studying constellations and making wishes on shooting stars. A big fan of discovering new music, her current favorite musicians to practice to are: Nahko and Medicine For The People, Trevor Hall and CloZee. ♥
