Dear Dreamers,

Welcome to the first Xanadu Diary!

This evening, I am writing to you from the jungles of Costa Rica!

Costa Rica is a magical land. There are crazy creatures, giant insects, wild flowers, banana trees, and huge waves to surf!

This week, I want to share with you a jungle living recipe and a simple twist to wring out lower back pain.

Where I am living, I am provided with black beans, rice, and any fruits or veggies I can find in the garden. So making meals has become a creative outlet turned artistic masterpiece!

The Jungle Smoothie For Two

Ingredients-
2 Bananas
2 starfruit
½ mango
1 handful shredded coconut
½ cup cold water
2 chilled glasses

Directions-
o Pick fruit from the trees
o Wash the fruit until it is dirt free
o Chop up all the fruit with a small knife
o Mangoes need diced, and scooped with a spoon
o Shred the coconut with a small handheld grater
o Throw everything in the blender
o Add the ½ cup of cold water
o Put the lid on and blend for 35-45secs
o Get your chilled glasses from the freezer and enjoy!

I have been cursed with lower back pain since having spinal surgery as a young girl and traveling with a giant backpack bumps up the pain. So here is a simple twist that I like to call:

Tadasana Twist out that lower back pain!

o Start in Tadasana with your shoulders relaxed down your spine
o Inhale the belly up & in to engage your core
o Exhale left arm forward, right arm back, twisting from below the naval and bringing the gaze to the pinky side edge of your back hand
o Take two full breaths
o Gently come back to center & do the same twist on your left side
o Returning to center from your left side, inhale to lift your arms up & back, taking your heart back with you
o Exhale, dive forward, hinging at the hips
o Inhale up to a halfway lift, reorganizing your spine
o Exhale fold forward
